Visual perception is the brain's ability to receive, interpret, and act upon visual stimuli. Perception includes the follow skills:
-
Visual discrimination(The ability to distinguish one shape from another).
-
Visual memory( The ability to remember a specific form when removed from your visual field).
-
Visual-spatial relationships (The ability to recognize forms that are the same but may be in a different spatial orientation).
-
Visual form constancy (The ability to discern similar forms that may be different in size, color, or spatial orientation and to consistently match the similar forms).
-
Visual sequential memory (The ability to recall two to seven items in sequence with vision occluded).
-
Visual figure/ground (The ability to discern discrete forms when camouflaged or partially hidden).
-
Visual closure (The ability to recognize familiar forms that are only partially completed).
This bundle includes a variety of WriteAbility perceptual activity resources. The resources was created by an occupational therapist and includes guidelines for the use and development of visual perceptual skills. This bundle aims to support the development of children between the age of 4 to 9 years old, including children with special needs.
Resources included in the bundle:
-
Figure-Ground Perception Activity program to support visual perceptual development. This resource focuses on Figure-Ground Perception and includes information about perceptual development, various games, activities, and worksheets.
-
Form Constancy activity program to support visual perceptual development.
-
Tangram puzzles: Spatial Planning resource. This resource helps develop stronger problem-solving abilities and is a fun way to engage kids in perceptual planning activities.
-
Spatial Awareness and Spatial Planning resources. Spatial Awareness and Planning resources includes various hands-on activities to practice visual-spatial skills needed for early spatial cognition and spatial planning.
- My body: Spatial Perception
This is a growing bundle. More resources will be added as they are developed for which you will receive a download link.
