This Spatial Planning Tangram resource is designed to support children's spatial perceptual development. It was created by an occupational therapist and includes a variety of tangram activities. It provides lots of opportunities to develop spatial awareness and support spatial planning and problem solving skills. Suitable for use from 5 years and older. Activities is graded for easy use. What is a tangram?
Invented in China approximately 200 years ago, a tangram is a two-dimensional re-arrangement puzzle created by cutting a square into seven pieces -- seven geometric shapes called "tans" (Slocum et. al. 2003)
