Die WriteAbility Digitale Persepsie Pakket bestaan uit 11 WriteAbility digitale (AANLYN) hulpmiddels wat deur 'n arbeidsterapeut saamgestel is om persepsuele vaardighede by jong leerders te ontwikkel (5 tot 9 jaar).
Visuele persepsie is die brein se vermoë om visuele stimuli waar te neem, daardie inligting te interpreteer en te benut. Dit is ‘n belangrike bousteen vir akademiese aktiwiteite soos lees, skryf, spel en wiskunde.
Visuele persepsie sluit die volgende vaardighede in:
- Visuele Diskriminasie (is die vermoë om een vorm/objek van 'n ander te onderskei deur verskille en ooreenkomste waar te neem).
- Visuele Vormkonstantheid (die vermoë om soortgelyke vorms te onderskei wat anders kan wees in grootte, kleur of ruimtelike oriëntasie. bv. "a" bly dieselfde ongeag in watter lettertipe dit geskryf word).
- Visuele Figuur-Grond (stel ons in staat om besonderhede of fyn detail waar te neem, terwyl ons onnodige visuele inligting ignoreer).
- Posisie in die Ruimte (is die vermoë om te weet waar jou liggaam /objek in die ruimte is en sluit verskeie rigting konsepte soos links, regs, voor, agter skuins ens. in)
- Ruimtelike Verhoudings (is die vermoë om 'n voorwerp se posisie in verhouding tot jouself of met betrekking tot ander items waar te neem).
- Visuele Geheue ( Die vermoë om 'n spesifieke vorm of of objek te onthou wanneer dit uit jou visuele veld verwyder word).
- Visuele Opeenvolgende Geheue (is die vermoë om twee of meer items in volgorde te onthou wanneer visie uitgesluit word).
- Visuele Sluiting is die vermoë om bekende vorms te herken wat slegs gedeeltelik voltooi is).
- Visuele Analise en Sintese (behels die vermoë om 'n voorwerp as 'n geheel waar te neem, dit op te breek in dele.
Hierdie pakket sluit verskeie aktiwiteite om visuele persepsie vaardighede te ontwikkel in. Die 11 speletjies/ aktiwiteite wat in hierdie pakket ingesluit is, het 30 taak-kaarte elk.
